we have two dirrezza tires, and three bmw tires that are good. My mother blew the other tire up in a tire failure the other day. Now, these are somewhat different sizes, 215 17s or so.. and 235 17. now if we do alot of runs at a autocross, assuming they fit on my 17 inch rims, non sti so not wide really. is this going to burn up my center diff, or my rear diff. I dont wanna burn up the center diff running on asphalt, where it cant slip like on dirt. Eventually I will get a job and be able to afford tires again.We may run the bmw z3 on Jimmy V autocross, since the black car is not ready and i dont have tires.Do you know if Performance Chassis has take off 17 inch dirrezza tires out back? I could buy those at discount maybe and run them.

On a viscous diff, I wouldn't even run 2 tires of the same nominal size (say 215/45/17) if one was 1/4" of tread different from the other, it's just not worth cooking the silicone fluid in the viscous coupling.

I suppose I oughta know .. on asphalt I oughta just run the same size.. Maybe next year I will have tires and be able to compete.This year is not looking so good so far.
