Wife and I are going to Daytona next week for a beach vacation. Thought about going to Universal, what is there to do fun? Looks like 2 days are almost cheap as one so I don't know how long we will stay.

Plenty.Out side of town, there is Gator Land. A fave hangout of mine there.. a park dedicated to live gators.. You can buy chunks of hot dog, and throw them into the gator pen.. whence they eat the dogs.Cool shows happen sometimes, remember fl. is not all beach, inland it is all swamp land. Lynyrd skynyrd is floridian i believe.
The hulk ride is awesome, dueling dragons, fear factor shows.. sea world is worth a visit. (yes i did see shamu) It is a fun place ot go. Fun places to eat there too.. One is a mediterrainien themed place, with like sandwiches and such.. fun place. Harry potter ride.. The hogwarts diner is fun too, you must get a chilled drink from harry potter land, I forget the name of it, but it is realllllly good. The portofino hotel is a fun place to stay, that is where we have stayed be4.
You can get alot to drink at the local Margaritaville, and then take the boats back to the hotel and sleep it off. I grew up with x men, so x men land was alot of fun for me. the tower of terror is cool. Plenty to do there, you wont be bored. I was not .

i would suggest large quantities of alcoholic beverages.

actually, it is pretty cool but still a bit kid-centric. lots of roller coasters, movie rides etc., but the restaurants are pretty good. several night clubs / adult dance clubs but can't speak for any of them.

you should be able to hang out there for two days without getting too bored. a bit of a hump from Ormond Beach however. i would suggest crashing in Orlando for the night.

Islands of Adventure (the "thrill" side of US) has all the rollercoasters and the Harry Potter land. I'm not a Potter Dork but I understand that it is incredibly detailed and the rides in the land are great. It is incredibly crowded though so hit it early in the day.

US, from what I understand, has changed alot from the days that it was a working studio. They still have a lot of good rides apparently and it shouldn't be that crowded compared to IoA.

Universal's express pass/fast pass/front of the line pass is expensive. But you get it as part of your room if you stay at a US hotel. Their rooms are expensive also. I've heard that the pass is a necessity if you are at IoA on a busy day.
