For those who like to see cars go extremely fast in a straight line, the IHRA Spring National drag races will be held at Rockingham Dragway April 23-25. Even tho we have an AX scheduled on the 25, it would be well worth the drive to see all the Action either fri eve's Night of Fire (1st round of pro qualifying) + wheel standers and Jet cars and 18 WHEELER!) or all day Sat with 1st 2 rounds of sportsman eliminations and round 2 (@ 1) and final round (@6) of pro qualifying with 2 more appearances of the wheelstanders and jet cars including the final run by the huge jet powered Kennelworth in the DARK! (Really an awesome sight!). We'll be going down for the day on Saturday to watch our friend Mike Janis with his 213mph record holder Pro Mod in his quest for his second national championship. It's the best 35.00 ticket in auto racing, you are allowed free access to the pits where you can see the cars close up, talk to the drivers and crew and watch them completely rebuild their 2000 hp engines between rounds. Over a billion dollars worth of equipment in one parking lot.

I guess that we'll have to sweep the PBR bottlecaps off of the parking lot ahead of time.
