well, maybe not. but funny all the same.

so i'm trying to sell a roto-tiller and i have been spam botted / phished to death on it. several people have flaked in and out with offers and never to return so the last guy to e-mail tweaked my snide temperament a touch.

please follow along:

first contact from potential buyer on like friday evening

call me at 704-786-2286 i live in mt. pleasant nc. Jerry i would like to come tomorrow..

i shot this back to him:

I will be available tomorrow but I do have a few things to take care of in the morning. steve

Super Bowl weekend, i didn't call him. when i didn't hear from him saturday morning i sent this.............

Hey. Never heard from you today. I have been junk mailed to death on this sale. Where are you on this transaction? I would not have expected scammers on a piece of agricultural equipment, but I guess it is the way of the world these days.

Sunday morning i get this in response.........

i gave you a phone # to call, I was ready to buy. I do not like email. I would like to take to you and get a address, so I can come and look at it.
This is not a scam, our phone number 704-786-2286 jerry

again, didn't call him as now i'm wondering why he insists on talking to me even though he is 3 hours away. i posted pictures and surely would have sent him more if he had any doubts regarding the condition of the tiller.

fast forward to this afternoon............ never heard back so i figured ..... what the hell........ sent him this:

Hey Jerry. I should be available this weekend if you are still interested in my tiller. It is located in Angier, NC.

promptly received this response:

i see you still cant read, i left you a phone no. do you know the difference from a phone and e mail? if so try using the phone ;

so, i responded: Interesting response. I'll bite. Does this mean you aren't interested?

any chance i will hear back on this sale from this fellow?

hey dumb ass read my message i said call me on the p h o n e not E MAIL !!!

for somebody that doesn't like e-mail, he sure uses it a bunch. i'm guessing he was trying to convey spelling of the word "phone" by spacing it as he did. such hostility. i bring out the best in people apparently. :lol:

I got an email from some craigslist dumbass when I was selling my WRX (for $6500, which is what I got for it) that went like this:

subject line - craigslist number/link/whatever

text - "4000"

That's it. Just those four digits.

My response was "Go f___ your mother. Sincerely, Kevin Allen"

I hate craigslist for selling stuff; not quite as bad for buying stuff, since I'm actually serious about buying it.

Steve, that actually seems like a pretty legitimate buyer, just ignorant and short fused. I had a fellow get made at me because I sold a 12 year old mattress before he could see it and he told me "I hope you burn! (I think he was originally going to run with 'get burned' but ran with it :roll:

) Not figuratively, literally!"

I asked him why it's so damned important and he explained his mother-in-law was coming in to town that night and needed somewhere to sleep. What a charmer! :lol:

i'm sure he is legit Matt. but i think he was planning on horse trading and i don't have the time or desire to engage in that.

when i sold my Z06 i had at least three guys run me ragged and then come back and offer me some ridiculous price for the car.
