In GM's defense, brakes only make cars slower.

Who knew brake pads were optional like floor mats.

"the missing part could lengthen the stopping distance, potentially contributing to a crash, the company said today in a statement."

"Could".... Really? Man, lawyers make people say the most asinine things. As if OnStar wasn't enough to avoid GM, the optional brake pads that may or my not affect braking distance is just the cherry on top.

A friend of mine was in an accident and had an OnStar premium membership. They never called to see if she was dead/alive/unable to figure out how to dial 911 etc. They offered to refund the month of service for that period. :?

So it turns out this was only 20-30 vehicles. Can't tell what is more interesting, that they were left off in the first place or that they caught it and issued a recall.
