It's called iHeart radio and Pandora. There are even 80s and 90s rock stations for the older folks.

(2) Kolu and I will be there.

As for gaming, here's my idea... Some of you are already familiar with Live For Speed. It is driving simulation software that runs on a Windows PC. Carlton, Noah, and I have all played it quite extensively. It has an excellent autocross mode, with a few really neat ~70-80 second courses. What I am envisioning is a mini virtual autocross event in which people get to drive a certain number of runs and they get to write their best time on magnetic strips and slap them to a metal lap time board, Top Gear style. We could even have some sort of award for the winner at the end of the night. Whaddya think??

The benefit of running autox mode would also mean that we would only need to bring one gaming rig, and plus I kind of like the idea that we could project the person's run on the big screen for everyone to watch and put the pressure on. Plus I gather that we are a slightly competitive bunch, so a competition might go over well? ;)

My simulator is built onto a steel frame, so transporting the whole thing is not an option. Removing the pedals/wheel/shifter/screen/computer is quite a task too, so I would prefer not to disassemble mine if someone else has a less permanent setup that they could bring. I would volunteer to build & bring the lap time board & magnetic strips (I already have a small one in my house!).

How late do you think this will run? I have my neighborhood party that I have to go to but want to get to this too. I will miss dinner for certain.

OK, need some help music wise. I just called Bills and they have a CD player that hooks to the PA and they said they can support a laptop to run music to the PA, but the they were unable to tell me how the laptop connected to the PA. I'm assuming we can use a full size jack and get a micro to standard size jack and run music from the iPod that way, but if the jack is not stereo, then we'll only get one side of the music.

Does anyone remember who has done presentations in the past remember any of the hookup options at Bills?

Does anyone have an iPod player w/ decent speakers? We need a backup plan in case piping the iPod directly to the PA doesn't work out.

PLEASE let me know if you have something we can use, I'll be happy to swing by and pick it up unless you are planning on attending the party, which you should be anyway!

Thanks!!!!

A little earlier today Noah posted this: "I'll bring my computer and such, it has Live for Speed and Dirt 2 installed." So that sounds like what we want - so Noah, we're officially accepting your offer. Be there early :)

(Not to ignore Pete's generous offer to bring his PS3 & Gran Turismo - but an autocross-specific game is right up our alley)

You know better than that. Imagewas a great rock station until it went country in '84. I would not bother posting this link, but it mentions the greatest radio DJ of all time, Pat Patterson, and also my 9th grade English teacher, Cabell Smith :) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WQDR-FM

Do you have a wheel to bring? I have a Logitech Momo wheel and pedal that I can bring. It clamps to a table, so that should be Ok. It only has 270 degrees of rotaion, so if you have a 900 degree wheel, that would be better.
