One more thing...their add says "Inspection I and oil service just done" which doesn't make sense really since an oil change is part of the "Inspection I". Also, in the range of the mileage of this car, it should have just had the Inspection II done, not I.

I figured they meant II but you never know.

As far as the Bullits go, as of about six weeks ago there were a total of three at the each the Mercury & BMW dealers, and Hanna Imports in the US1/540 area that sat for a while. Honesty, I'm not too familiar with Mustangs, but visually that's probably my favorite style (of the recent chassis) with it's subtle throwback look and would be a fun daily driver.

FYI other than color always being green and some interior/exterior trim the 2001 Bullits only "functional" change compared to other GT's afaik are the readily available bigger "Cobra" brakes compared to the standard GT brakes. I had the same wheels (Premium GT) on my 01 GT. The 01 Bullit also had some very minimal suspension and engine tuning and intake manifold "improvements". Since my 01 was a relatively early one it still had the lighter T45 transmission which unless you power shift isn't a problem at all. Neither is a competitive FS car but certainly a good solid street ride. I drove my completely stock 01 GT for 11 years and 92K miles with one warranty repair to ABS stuff and one out of warranty replacement of the limited slip clutch plates (actually a consumable). Also the IAC valve. I think that is the complete "repair" list.

Buy this Rodney. You know you want to! It's for sale on Glenwood. I've been tempted to stop by and take it for a test drive just because.

I know it may be anathema to a former Ford dude, but Colbalt SS might not be a bad choice. Seems set up well for DS, but I don't follow that marque much.

No price on the car, go figure. I like their financing statement. "...we offer financing. Please bring cash in person, wire transfer or cashiers check." Easy financing, only one payment to make!

uhhhhh, no. No cobalt for me, just not my style. I did price out a new 6 banger mustang today on line and once it got over 30k I quit. Now where the hell did I put that winning lottery ticket so I can order my Bugatti super sport....

Thought about a WRX as well. Need to drive Kevin's car to get a real taste of how the car feels.

I found this, what do you think?

http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.js ... f=national

I know nothing about Porsche's but love that iconic shape. I know they can be tail happy under the right conditions. This could be great fun, but I need a DD.

There were a certain set of years where they considered the cars and engines fairly bullet proof. Need to explore this more....

Ughhhhh, there has NEVER been a bullet proof Porsche whether it be engine, transmission, fit/finish etc. The 997/987 is showing more promise than any but they would be well out of your price range.

If you were to buy that 94 993 for 15k. Think that you'd probably drop $5-7k into it in the next 3-5 years.

I won't comment on a WRX. But if you go for a Subaru, concentrate on 05 or 06 STIs (no later than that).

Actually, that seems cheap for a real RS America. Makes me wonder if there is anything wrong with it. I seem to recall them being in the high 20's to low 30's last time I looked.

Ping Robert Plank. He is very convincing when it comes to living with 911s as a daily driver. He had me actively looking for one for a long time after we talked in Sanford.

the 911 looks good.. STi is where life is at.. the ring lands can be fragile after you build massive power, but kevin would know more than i would. i have a issue of grm where... they talked about 911 porsches.. it will be a better track car than a subie.but subie will be cheaper road car for parts. STI is scary fast in its own right, laggy turbo wise is my wrx.. but once the turbo hits you know it.The reason i dont autocross my wrx more is the 2.5l wrx. it is in my class with my 2l car.
both turbod cars, but the 2.5l has right much more torque than i do. less laggy than mine, i like the new hatches. up to you.. subies are great in snow or anything else you throw at it.. but porsche in the right conditions are amazing cars.

Yeah, after I sent the guy a note asking some basic questions on the car, I looked at NADA. It puts the car at 42k. Something don't smell right now....
