So, after driving Nelson's mini this weekend, I leaning heavily towards a mini. Just a blast to drive. That said, I may soon end this thread. Found exactly what I was looking for at a carmax in SC. They are starting the process to ship the car to the Raleigh store. Have to say I'm looking forward to this...

uggg, just checking tire prices on tirerack. Shelling out a grand for r-comps really doesn't float my boat. I do want to go heads up against Jordan next year. From a dad perspective, I can't think of anything more fun than going up against your son. We'll talk and decide where we're going, either DS or TIRe.

Nice find! Confirmed LSD by VIN? I think that car will do very well in ST* when/if you choose to go that way.

JCW cars are stuck with 17's (although it appears Rodney isn't going the JCW route) :(

So REALLY? After getting all excited about running D-Stock against Maria and Rodney, it might just be me and my wife next year?

Rodney, I hate to throw a monkey wrench into your AX classing, BUT, the smaller supercharger pulley is the cheapest and easiest HP upgrade and all of the motorsports. Really ads to the fun of the car but no more stock classes.

Had some email threads w/ Jordan today and he's not opposed to running r-comps. Not out of the picture yet, we're still deciding on what to do. In regard to the JCW car, those were above my price point. Figured I was lucky to find this one configured the way I wanted and the chrono package is the kicker.

So I guess the thought is now, if they are putting the JCW car in DS and you're allowed to put JCW springs on the car, are brakes next? That would be nice.

So much to learn in regard to this car and what the correct mods are. So did I hear right, Maria is going to DS and moving from TIR?

Yeah, wanted the SC just for this reason. I'll run stock for a while and then judge options down the road.

LSD confirmed. Since I've come to know the folks up at Flow Mini, I called this morning and they sent me a PDF of the car options. Shows option 02TA, limited slip diff. So I called Carmax at like 10:00:05 and asked about the car. Said it was available and I said ship it.

Right now I'm in for $149 to have it transferred and put the car on hold. Once it lands in Raleigh, I have 3 days to look at it and buy it, after that it opens back up the public.

Not a rules guru, but I suspect you can't swap JCW springs onto a regular S, for the same reason you can't swap S2000 CR springs onto a regular S2000. From an earlier sccaforums discussion, you can't even bring a dealer-installed JCW to DS...only port-installed, with documentation to prove it is a legit install. Yuck. GLWT.
