Ohhh, I think Im starting to get this. So you can go to the courthouse early and talk to the ADA to ask for a reduction first and if that doesnt work you can get a continuance to come back at the appointed court time. Does the ADA always allow the continuance to come back for the original appointed court time? I mean there would be no threat of him saying that his ruling, should he be grumpy that day, would be final? So far this sounds like the best course of action should this all be accurate. Thanks again guys!

You go on your court appearance day....point is that you don't go into a court room in front of a 'judge'. It's just a room where the ADA handles all these traffic offenses.

There is a chance he might not allow a continuance, but I think that's slim. I think Maria told me that in Durham's courthouse, "If your pants aren't hanging off your ass, you don't smell like beer, you aren't *obviously* high or drunk, you'll probably make it out ok" :).

Best advice ever. I got my first ever ticket last year literally on the 'way to grandma's house' on country road 97 heading to Rocky Mount and he got me at 14 over as I came around a blind turn. The V1 is no match for instant-on radar btw. It's just too late.

I was about $210 lighter in the wallet, but a friend of the family lawyer from Tarboro went to take care of everything bringing it to 9 over and improper equipment or something along those lines and my State Farm agent was none the wiser.

No one knows how many improper equipment convictions Kurt Spitzner got back in the day.
Sort of how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsi-pop.
