As some of you know, we live on a farm not far from Raleigh (some of which also double as a RallyCross site). We own the land and lease it to a guy who raises beef cattle as a sideline to his regular job.

Our cattle guy mentioned to me recently that he was thinking of selling 1/2 of a steer for beef. Price will have to be determined once we line up a buyer (or a group). There's a local processing facility that will do all the processing, and you will receive wrapped + labelled cuts of beef after they are done.

I'm just trying to help out by putting the word out to see if anyone might be interested in the entire 1/2, or if a group of folks want to get togther and split the 1/2. Just for the record, 1/2 of a steer is ALOT of beef, not all of it is filet mignon, there are alot of different cuts.

These are grass-fed, locally raised cattle, no hormones or other additives.

Post back up here or PM me if you're interested, or would like more details.

Thanks!

Bret.

I will split some: chuck, flank, oxtail, skirt, flat iron, brisket or ribeye. Basically everything but the lame filet and strip :).

Not sure right now Rodney, I'll have to get an estimated weight of the steer, then figure out what the approximate "dressed" weight would be.

We did one of these a little more than a year ago, we kept 1/2 and sold 1/2 and we ended up with like 175 lbs of meat for our 1/2. As far as cuts, it's basically up to the processor how they cut it, then you would have to split those up amongst the other parties who want in on the 1/2.
