All Club Members:
Long-time Club member Miles Beam had a stroke last Saturday, and is in rehab at Wake Med. Many of you will remember Miles as one of our Members-at-Large and Site Search Coordinator who worked hard to make our events successful and fun.
I'm sure he and his family would appreciate your prayers.

Damn. Miles is an awesome guy. Praying for the best.

If you get any more info, particularly if there's any kind of CaringBridge site setup or anything, please post it.

Agreed!!!!

Since Miles is self-employed and the "bread winner" this will be especially tough on his family (wife and two children).

What Donnie said. Miles was one of the first people to welcome me into THSCC. Great guy.

Praying for a good outcome. Keep us informed Brad.

Call the WakeMed main number 919-350-8000 and ask for Miles Beam in Stroke Rehab.

I spoke with Audrey (Miles' wife) a few minutes ago. Without posting "too much" here is what I'm comfortable posting:

Audrey indicated that Miles will probably be there for 3 more weeks and is bored stiff.

He wants visitors from Tarheel.

The best time to visit is probably between 6 - 8 in the evenings.

Home address can be found by using the "there is no privacy" Wakegov property search.

Crap. :( Miles was always fun to hang out with at events and always willing to help. Praying for a speedy recovery!

That's too bad. I obviously know Miles from AX and Audrey was one of our Vets. I hope for a speedy recovery.

Wow, I didn't read this until today. I'm very sorry to hear this and I'm sure we're all praying for Miles' speedy recovery.

I stopped on the way home and said "hi" to Miles. I'll re-iterate what Brad said about appreciating visitors. He says that time passes slowly so if folks stop by and give him someone to speak to it helps pass the time. They don't need anything yet as Audrey is eating hospital food mostly.

He will be in the hospital for around 3 weeks depending on how rehab goes and how his recovery is.

I stopped and saw Miles today, and Art was there also. Miles seems to be doing ok considering he had a stroke on Saturday, Art and I spent about an hour with him, still looking like 3 weeks before he leaves. I will probably stop by next week.

I saw Miles this evening. He was pretty tired but absolutely appreciates visitors to help break the boredom. He is mentally sharp. Constantly saying something funny (in context) even though he clearly is suffering physically from a recent stroke.
