Just a heads up that the American Top Gear had its first show last night on the History channel. Pretty entertaining and they changed the format a little for the first show. Anyway, just to let you know it's back....

It was pretty entertaining I thought.

Adam Carolla's new show "The Car Show" is pretty entertaining as well especially if you like his sense of humor. The show is a little different from TG but basically the same.

I actually liked the first episode (Carolla's show) especially the 458's. My wife even admitted that Adam Carolla acts more 'grown up'.

I don't recall seeing many chicks in the USTG show. The ones is the 2nd episode of The Car Show....

Matt's wife certainly won't approve when they figure out how to work in the trampolines.

Dan Neil has come a long way since he was "road testing" a bile green Mirage for the the N&O at one of our Morrisville autocrosses.

Cool, thanks for the heads-up!

So far, I'm un-enthused by The Car Show. I'm not sure I can take that much of Corrola's nasal twang.

And the editing needs some work... anyone else notice in the first episode when they started up the 300zx, that they showed the engine from another car? (One they showed some footage of later in the segment.)

I'm afraid TGUS still strikes me as lame. Maybe it suffers from the comparison to the UK version.

The Car Show is gaining traction with me. Carolla is better than I feared and I've enjoyed Dan Neil's thoughts since his N&O/Spectator days. The activities they get involved in are better too ...

I just watched the first episode of USTG season two. It's getting better, but Rutledge Wood is still a tool. Seeing a big steaming pile of sh*t dumped on a E30 was priceless though. BTW, who pays $2K for a 325e?

Anyone else think the last segment of the show was totally stupid? I thought the challenge was to turn their cars into a monster truck in 12 hours? Obviously that wasn't done in 12 hours, and none of that chassis was from either of those three cars. I'll have to admit a monster truck Miata was kind of cool though.

Great thing is, I'm glad we've got two shows with much more relevant content for us than pretty-much anything else relating to cars on TV right now.

This.

Watched TGUSA season two first episode last night, it was okay so far I'm enjoying Carolla's show better. How much money do you think was spent on the monster truck conversions, I'm thinking a 5 digit number that doesn't start with '1'.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that liked that!

I think the show is improving, and I didn't think it was that bad to begin with. They would easily be better than the TGUK show if they would stop trying to imitate them.

USTG is so cringe worthy. I thought that they actually had chemistry by the end of Season 1, but man is it bad.

As much as Top Gear proper gets crap for being scripted, Series 17 has been a return to form. This week's finale is going to have an electric car shoot-out featuring the Nissan Leaf!!

As many have said, Rutledge Wood is a tool and makes everything he touches worse. Let him go back to NaSCRAP where they can "appreciate" his brand of "Humor"
