as in the problem that I'm about to obtain another one. Don't know how many of you know, but my step father passed on Sunday the 12th. Good man and a true knowitall northerner. I got along w/ him ok, but he was very kind to my mother and that's what counts.

So the issue is I stand to inherit an e30 in need of some TLC. Paint needs about a weeks worth of love, drivers seat needs to be reupholstered and a few mechanical issues to address. This is a '91 325 convertible (manual top) w/ the sports package and automatic. I've taken care of some of major items like timing belt, shocks, struts and brakes. It has ~140k on the odo. I've thought about selling the car, but since this has belonged to my mother for the past 15 years and been mostly garage kept, I'm hard pressed to sell it. I think w/ a little work, this can turn out to be a very nice car.

I'm thin on garage space and I need a recommendation on a good car cover for this beast. I know it leaks a little at the pressure seal on the back edge of the top where it hits the body. Any suggestions on a good car cover? Unfortunately it will parked in the driveway and get lots of sun. I don't really have any other options at the moment. ....and no, I'm not selling the e46 convertible.... 8)

ON a side note, could I interest you in a hardtop for the E46 convertible? I somehow ended up with one, it's in good shape- silver color but the back glass is broken out of it. I'll sell it cheap- I think new glass is ~$300 or so from the dealer, so for $1000 or so you could have a nice E46 hardtop.

I may be interested in the hard top, especially for winter driving. As for the portable car cover, I truly detest these things. Functional, yes. A true eyesore? Yes.... Absolutely hideous.

The car cover that I previously used was a NOAH cover from Bavarian Autosport. They are listed under the "Car Care" section. http://www.bavauto.com
