My daily driver Silver 1998 Civic (the one I used to autocross a number of years back) rolled over 200000 miles as I pulled into the driveway last night :) When I bought it used in 2000 it had about 40K miles...

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

My Integra read 296000 as I pulled in the garage the other night. Since it sees more track time than street time, likely I won't be in a position to take a picture when it rolls over 300000. A cool moment indeed though.

You better stop on track and take a pic. Or crash it.

My 98 DX coupe was without a doubt the best car I've owned. Engine was a tank.....7200 rpms almost daily (with 100chp and 3.88:1 FD and no VTAKs it was slow), never burned oil on 7500 mile OCIs, trans shifted smoothly and precisely till the day I sold it, the interior was VERY well put together, no rattle, noise or anything.

In 148k miles I did: 1 timing belt job (valve clearance was spot on at 95k miles), 2 spark plug jobs, a few seafoams and oil changes. Original clutch.

I could have seen that thing going to 300k without flinching.

My car has been generally trouble free.

* Original clutch
* I did timing belt and water pump at about 105K. Need to plan for second sometime soon.
* Replaced both front axles (due to torn boots)
* Replaced muffler once
* Replaced radiator fan temp sensor/switch
* Replaced radiator (leak from crack)
* Exhaust manifold has a small crack that could be brazed, but it has been that way for over 100K
* Carpet on driver side a bit worn, but otherwise interior is in great shape.
* Numerous tires, front brake pads and a I think I have replaced the front rotors once or twice. Rear drum shoes seem to never wear out.
* A few sets of plugs and wires.
* Really needs a valve adjustment. :(

The only odd issue now is that on startup, I get a slight misfire for about 5-10 seconds. This has occasionally thrown a CEL (misfire cyl #1). It doesn't happen every time and I am trying to figure out the pattern. It is more on cold startup. I haven't really looked hard at what is going on. I need to pull the plugs. They probably need to be changed anyhow.

Unless I come into some money, I am looking to see how long I can drive it.

Oh... and I was wanting to take a photo of it turning over. I have been afraid I would forget so I have been trying to remember to watch it. One the way to work yesterday I figured it would happen on the return trip. But I ended up staying late (after dark). Before I left I tested my camera on my cell, but it was too dark to get a photo. So I was hoping I would make it home before it turned over (so I could photo in daylight). Luckily it started to turn over just about the time I could see my house and was finished as I pulled in. I took the photo this morning!

Funny story....when I got the WRX the Civic sat in front in my house for about 10 days without being started and I got a serious buyer who I was meeting at the mall. I get in the Honda and start it up and it started very rough and a few seconds later I get a CEL..........crap! Turn around and scan it and it's a cyl 4 misfire. I clear it, and suck about an ounce of seafoam through it and it's running fine. On the way to the mall, I do a WOT run through 1st and 2nd and the thing is running dead on. Must have just had some build up on the plugs or something as it sat for more than a week. Never heard from the kid who bought it so I assume it didn't reoccur.

But it never did that other that one time.
