I am watching Fast and the Furious (1955 version) on Netflix.
About 31 minutes or a little more into the movie. This couple (male criminal and female hostage/race car driver) in a Jag arrive at a California Sports Car Club race event to hide from the police. :car:
The Registrar/Announcer/Event Chair person (singular ) refuses to let the woman drive because course was deemed too dangerous. So he lets the man register, on the spot, no fee required.
Things I found quite amusing (besides the entire movie)
    No fees
Course map and personal explanation of course
    Numbers handed to you
    Unregistered rider for qualifying lap
An extra lap to view the course
No helmet at first and only driver needs one
    No Grid worker
    Chit chatting while driving course
Looking the part (of driver) is good enough
Put into lower gear at all sharp turns! YOU won't have to nurse the engine RPMs back up. (Are Jag's underpowered?)
Registrar/Announcer/EC can see entire course through trees and everything else
    Trucks on course
Great drivers can win any women over... (even one that was a hostage)
And women hostages make great instructors... A novice gets 2nd in qualifying!
Commentary from announcer is hilarious. (Marcus must have studied under him)
I think she was the first Chick School instructor. Her instructions were fantastic.
BTW no offense to THSCC chick school. I think it is a great program even though I've never been able to see one 'cause I'm a male.
