My son who is living in Greenville is looking at a 2000 F150. Since I live nearly 2 hours away and know precious little about big pickups, does anyone have a suggestion for a good shop that could take a look at a truck and give an honest assessment of its condition?

Thanks in advance,

Lee

I use a guy named Raymond Everett. He was lead tech and service manager at the GM dealer for years and just got tired of the rat race his number is 902 5754 he is a one man operation and works behind his house in the Eastern Pines area. He can do anything and always gives the car a full look over. Use my name.

A lot of people like Briley's over near Golden Corral. I have never used them. Do not go to Pirate Auto.

I know a guy named Ronnie Taylor that owns a shop on the corner of Greenville Blvd and Arlington with a big Napa sign. I do know he has the honesty to look at something and say we can't do that take it somewhere else.

Thats about all I know, lived here 25 years but have outlived two really great mechanics. My new guy is younger than me so hopefully he will be my last.

if you need anything else call me at work 756 5200 Cline

I have found Briley's Tire the best place in town. I take our stuff there when I don't want to do it or can't. It is on Trade Street off Memorial, but, if you come from town on Greenville Blvd. you turn right at Golden Corral. I your son doesn't know where that is tell him it is just down from Hooters!
If it were me, I'd have them do a compression check as well as get it up on a lift to check out the suspension, brakes along with hoses, belts, transmission etc. I don't know what they charge, but will call and let you know. PM me with his cell number and I'll help him. If he just wants someone to drive the truck and give an opinion, I'll stoop and drive a Ford.
Do any of you other NASCAR Rednecks love the way Harvick passed Johnson? It reminds me of how the 3 car would have done it. Push the guy down the straight to "rattle his cage" and get him loose. Then, pass him on the last turn.

Hummmm? Cline - maybe. Walter - definitely not awesome. Ryan? You must be kidding! These are three of the Lemon heads that waste money driving a POS car 15 hours (if it doesn't break) and think it is fun! Definitely examples of poor judgment!
