I thought I remember somewhere about inflatable car ramps or car jacks. I can't seem to find anything of quality. Does anyone know of any?

Never heard of inflatable ramps, but there are airbags that can be used to lift a car.

IIRC they were expensive and looked like alot more trouble than a floor jack.

EDIT: the googles to the rescues

I really dudn't explain the whole situation well.

Basically I was looking for a better solution to lift the race car. The chassis is so stiff that I have to walk up the car (switch from end to end) to get enough lift on the car to do 4 wheel suspension/brake work. A scissor lift is about $2K.

the exhaust ones don't look that safe.

A used low-rise lift is probably $6-800.

For example:

BTW, they've been trying to sell those lifts for at least 2-3 months now, so I'd definitely try to bargain with them (alot) if you are thinking of buying one.

I think maybe it's time to just go ahead and put some air jacks on the car!!

yeah, two things

1) They add a lot of weight

2) The horror story of someone putting them on and they went through the frame and floor of the car instead of the car going up scares the bejebees out of me.

Meh.

These are only 1-1.5 kgs each, not much weight at all IMHO.

Maybe 30.

But the cool factor is worth at least 50hp, so it's a good trade-off.

;)
