Has anybody else noticed what a disregard Prius drivers have for traffic laws? As a matter of fact, I think it applies to all Hybrid drivers. I guess since they think they are saving the world they don't have to worry about anything else.

I was reminded of this this morning when I was cut off by a Prius passing in the dedicated right turn lane and then having to slam on their brakes (guess they do work) to keep from rearending the next car infront of them. Perhaps they think they need to due this to charge the batteries that will cost them 4k when they wear out and pollute the local land fill.

About got hit by a Fusion hybrid the other day when it ran two stop signs to get me.

While I'm at it, have you seen the news report about the proposed road through the Serengeti (it's the last great wilderness not those cool Jeans your girl friend wore in the 80's VK)? Know what it is for? To make easier transport of minerals taken from Lake Victoria for (wait for it) HYBRID BATTERIES!

I need some more caffeine.

And yes I know I have posted some of this before but it is really frustrating driving a friggin car with your name all over it when every part of your being wants to beep, wave, and flip off the offending driver.

I've recently found a cure for the typical tree-hugger Prius driver. It's called my 4.6L V8.

Not really, I think it is an equal spread. I had some D*$kwad pass me and the line of cars ahead of me on I40 in the turn lane and then cut in front of one making the whole line behind have to slam on brakes. I think it is just a function of people not having respect anymore.

Yesterday driving to work on I-77 I saw a guy in a Acura TL with a recently replaced unpainted passenger side fender doing about 90mph in rush hour traffic, weaving in and out. After he cut 3 lanes of traffic off and proceeded to pass at least 4 cars at about 80+mph in the breakdown lane, I backed WAY off expecting to see carnage in the next mile or two. Fortunately, there was no such incident, but Darwin will catch up with this person. - AB

On my daily commute on Charlotte Motor Speedway (AKA I 40 and 540 in Raleigh) I see lots of hybrids and everything else. All types of cars are driven by crazy drivers, decent drivers, THSCC type excellent drivers (no matter how crazy we may look to others  ), and incompetent drivers. Hybrids seem as likely to be driven by people who are actually into saving money and fuel as they are by "speeders" etc who take advantage of their fuel economy to go faster. Most are just average "sheep" just like drivers of most other cars.

It always gives me a chuckle when I see a Prius pulled over by a cop.

I'm telling you, there is a much higher percentage of Prius drivers that are bad drivers. This shouldn't surprise me, I've sold insurance in a college town for 18 years. I can spot an absentminded professor type as soon as he/she walks in. I try not to insure them because they would never think of replacing a roof or fixing a water leak and will not notice a pedestrian in a crosswalk. I think that goes hand in hand with the Prius market segment.

The McDonalds in Cary has this "special" parking space right up front for "green cars." A couple of months ago it took everything I had not to back the M5 up into that space with the Dinan exhaust rumbling the windows of that place and do the redneck V8 rev before shutting it down.

FYI, Chuck you cannot be a redneck in an M5. A bimmerdouche maybe, but not a redneck. :P

They have several of those signs when I was at a mountain bike race last year at Briar Chapel, a audubon community outside of Chapel Hill. Kind of ironic because a lot of folks interested in taking care of the earth don't mind taking care of their health too. So, why wouldn't they be the ones who didn't mind walking further. Just a random thought...

I love the drivers who can talk on their cell phone, smoke a cigarette and hold onto a drink while they are driving! They are even better than the ladies putting on their makeup!

A couple of months ago I was riding down a 4 lane road and came up on the left to pass a lady (don't recall what she was driving). She started to swerve over to my lane so I gave her a little horn action. As I pull up next to her she starts shaking her cell phone at me as if to say, "Can't you see, I'm on the phone!". Where are my manners? I've got some nerve, eh.

OK, well this is probably really ugly of me, but i harrassed a poor kid learning to drive today. yes i embarrassed myself.

mini-van at 4:30 in the afternoon driving ten miles below the posted speed, riding the brake pedal. after following this roadblock for about a mile i wailed on the horn only to find out at the redlight that the poor kid was enduring his mother teaching him to drive in a mini-van. he really didn't look like he was enjoying himself at all.

yes, i was a tool. but was she doing this kid any favors by allowing him to drive well below the speed limit and to randomly apply the brakes?
