In my freaking driveway!!

Pull in and two shoot in front of me as I pull in. As I stop another 6 or 7 just walk by both sides of the truck. I live in Stepford Wives subdivision. Just shows they are everywhere now, and so are Coyotes.

I had a Coyote stop and check me out in my driveway not too long ago. Concerned me a bit that he didn't seem to be put off too much by my presence.

They have been eating the flowers and such for a while now...and we have seen them in the back yard a time or two. This is the first time though that they didn't give a crap that I was there in a noisy diesel and just casually walked around me.

Pretty wild, literally...

I thought it was cool seeing two foxes on a night ride through Umstead this week. We had a deer scare the hell out of us too since the bike light aims the direction of the handbars.

The deer will sometimes freeze only a few yards away until they feel they have to run. If can't see them (since you never point the bike that way), and they decide to take off it offer fresh fall leaves only a few feet away, it makes for a scary sensation until you realize the deer is waaaay more afraid.

They are all over behind the house. So much so that the dog doesn't even look anymore, he just runs out of the house, leaps off the deck and starts the chase. If they are there all we see is a blur through the woods followed by the dog. If they aren't he runs into the woods then just comes straight back tennis ball still in his mouth

We live on a few acres with a pond just outside the Raleigh city limits in NW Raleigh near I 540 close to a major street. We have regular deer, hawk, etc. wildlife visitors just outside the house. Haven't seen any lately but we also have had Racoon, Possum, Great Blue Heron, Canada Geese, Snapping Turtle, Beaver, etc. The deer we see are either Does or relatively young. They usually come in a group with a doe and two young ones (fawn and older). A buck tends to visit the yard across the street but we have never seen him. We didn't see the Bear that passed through a nearby neighborhood a few years ago but who knows. Obviously we, like everyone else, have lots of squirrels (aka Hawk feed).

I've seen fox running/crossing roads this Fall but none close to us.

At the in-laws acerage the deer have learned that the dogs don't go past the fence. So the dogs go barking up and the deer stand about 3 feet away and laugh at them.

BTW I have notied that true herds have started to form again...10-30 at a time at some locations

we have a opossum that frequents our sunroom as that is where the cat food is available. i pop him on the ass with a broom and he growls at me as he hastily exits the house.

since the neighbors thin the deer herd in the subdivision, i haven't seen more than 10 or 12 at a time. we did have three buck banging heads in the yard about a month ago. damnedest thing i've ever seen.

i'm pretty sure one of my neighbors blasted one of the buck in the ass with a shotgun about a week ago. doubtful he lived more than a day or two afterwards. such a waste. not to mention it was probably less than 500 yards from my house. f'n rednecks
