Its called your wallet

That's for sure. I was doing some autocross expense math in my head and it's staggering.

An $1100 (with mounting) set of Ho-ho's on a camber challenged car will probably last around 45 runs I'm guessing. So, that's only like $25 a run.

When Chris Cline told me he was at around 250 runs on his Direzzas I thought, damn I need to learn to drive on street tires again!

....which is exactly why I ran away from F-Stock.

Laura and myself did about 46 ax runs + reruns + chick school + 3 track weekends for me on $264.00 worth of RT-615s. The death of them was a flat spot to boot, not normal treadwear.

And for some reason I'm buy R-comps this winter.

I thought it was because you were skierd?

So the question now is, why are you running from TIR ? :)

Well I could be talked into bringing out my daily driver to play in TIR class at the Laurinburg event since I am definitely not running the kart there. One took the TIR class championship when Matt was running there with his M3. Maybe another one can beat James' Sally Wagon and Rodney's Mulletmobile.

there were a few mods I've wanted to do to the car despite the fact I have no money to spend, so STX was my next choice. Besides that, it still limits me to the cheaper 265 wide tires. I had a hard time finding a 285 in a street tire, so I'm still spending a little less on tires by going STX. Bottom line is I can never leave well enough alone... 8)

It's because you want to go fast!

Now that I'm all alone in F-Stock, I took a look at "TIR" class tires. Try this on: Dunlop Direzza Star Specs in 275/35-18 .... $265 each. Compare that to $300 for Hoosier A6s in the same size, or $322 for the 295/30-18s that gave Rodney the heebie-jeebies last spring. Sure, I can drive the TIR class tires back and forth to the event, but I'm paying close to the same money to go slower.

Someone please go buy a Camaro SS so I'll have some motivation next year!

Planning on a track event or two. Only casual autocross next year. Hense the cheap Azenis decribed above.
