Big recommendation from me for Kenny Steinberg in Durham. He helped me out on a ticket I picked up on the way to VIR a few years back. He's actually an old frat buddy of a good friend of mine, and a great guy.
I *crossesfingers* "haven't had a ticket in years" but I still keep his number in my cellphone just in case: 919-479-5575. Looks like he even has a website now --
http://www.kennethjsteinberglaw.comI got busted in downtown Raleigh by a sheriff, so don't know if I can use a Durham lawyer. Thanks for the recommendation thought....
I'm thinking something like this won't require a lawyer to go anywhere... a simple phone call from them to the DA or ADA more than likely. I'm with others... I'd try to talk to an ADA before your court date. If it were just a speeding ticket, I'd say just show up at the court date and take a reduction, but this sounds a little different, even without supporting evidence.
Good thing about being Wake county... the court's dockets are so full that the DA & ADA will usually plea down to just a fine, just to save those few minutes needed to process you through on the court day. You'll have to pay the fine anyway (with or without a lawyer). Asking the DA or ADA ahead of time might save you the lawyer fees though.
