I'll tell you something that "pisses me off." It is those on the left that use "conservatives are dumb, uneducated or just don't understand" to attack their positions and justify their own.

I am not trying to pile on here, and I agree with your general comment Walter, but I do think that there is truth to the comment about "socialism". How about I re-phrase the point...

I doubt most American regardless of political leanings understand what socialism is. Which makes it really unfortunate that particular topic is a big factor in driving politics today.

Well stated.

and Cline, I ask this. If the poor and the illegals get free or reduced cost health care why can't the middle class get a break too? As i mentioned to you earlier this week my less than stellar BCBS plan is jumping by 17% in January. My only option is to drop down another level for the second year in a row to a plan that basically covers nothing, cost too much monthly and I still have to pay for office visits and meds.

pardon me if my buttocks region feels abused.

Pardon me if I ask a blunt question? Does Cline pay for the oil changes in your wife's X5? How about windshield washer fluid? How about new tires?

Why should your health insurance pay for your meds and office visits? That's part of the problem, we have been insulated from the true costs of this stuff and that has allowed them to skyrocket unfettered.

are you saying i drive a "chick" car Ryan? a "soccer-mom" car?

as you may or may not know my company pays for our health insurance. of course i am the company so i pay for everything technically.

two adults one child under 18, no dental. in 2003 when we started with BCBS monthly premium was $440. good plan, low deductibles low co-pays.

this same plan today; with no changes in our health, no surguries etc. is $1365 per month. that would be a 210% increase in 8 years. i wish i could mark up my product 210%. of course i can't mark up my product 210% because i have COMPETITION in the marketplace.

i am forced to pay more out of pocket in co-pays and deductibles while reducing my coverage. which might not be so bad except i still pay a monthly premium which will be at least 8% higher than this years premium. so every year i pay more and receive less.

i don't know how some people could afford to have health insurance at these prices. oh wait, they don't have health insurance.

but the good news is, as i read in the Raleigh Fish Wrapper today, the new republican majority in the state of NC plans to pass a law exempting citizens of North Carolina from the federal healthcare law.

nifty, just f***'n nifty.

oh i almost forgot http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Content/ ... fault.aspx

Isn't BMW the one that also started sealing up their transmissions and saying that the oil is good for the lifetime of the vehicle?
