All of you top gear fans know of James May, Captain Slow of the trilogy of hosts on the show of Hampster, Mays and Clarkson. Have any of you seen his new series, James May's toy stories?

This is without a doubt one of the best shows I've seen on tv in a long time. I've seen 3 so far, the lego house, meccano and Scalextric, the electric scale car. The Scalextric was by far the most impressive under taking I've seen in a while where James set's out to trace the old Brooklands race track. This is tricky as part of the land has been bought up and is now a neighborhood setting. It's entertaining to watch James ask home owners if he can run a scale slot car track through their gardens. I was impressed by the shear number of folks that jumped at the chance to help and that they did indeed setup the track successfully.

If you are a BBC America fan like I am, you have to watch this show. Simply amazing....

I thought he already did this like 5 years back, but that was him going over cool old toys from his youth.

Oz and James' Big Wine Adventure is also hilarious; while in France he tells Oz that a box truck is going to hit a parked car, and the driver of the box truck just completely nails the hell out of the car.

I've come to appreciate James May too ... Toy Stories was a fun series, the Brits are sorta known for banding together to help. Maybe comes from living on an island :-)

James also writes a column for the Daily Telegraph:

Note the sidebars on the page about the BBC in a potential legal fight against the Stig who wants to write an autobiography - and unmask himself.
