Gang -

Just wondering if anyone in the club works at NetApp. I'm interviewing on site there soon, so naturally, I'm wondering what to expect. My phone interview with the hiring manager today went really well - he and I got along great, and he's a car guy to boot. He said he'd be bringing me there for an on-site as soon as the recruiter could schedule it.

We didn't go into any details as to the names of the products this team works on; only that it's a QA department.

I don't work there, but I heard they serve beer at 3pm on Fridays! Also heard they are probably second to SAS in perks in this area.

I don't work there, but have worked with some folks there. While they have had a lot of perks, they are largely in transition from "small company" to "large company", and as that happens some of these sorts of perks have been reduced. Not sure about the beer specifically, but in general they are moving toward being like other larger companies and less like a start-up.

They do have a very impressive datacenter, though - that is, if you find that sort of thing impressive

I'm one of those people. I think you might have told me about it at some point. Is this the one where they've routed the HVAC through all of the racks?

Yep, make sure you get a tour of the new datacenter they built, at least - I haven't been through it but it sounded impressive.

I was there recently and it is pretty impressive. Their campus was really nice as well. I was there for a conferance, so don't know anyone there well. They are deploying some "different" ideas in their data center.

Mmmmm. In-row cooling. Yeah, datacenter talk impresses me too.
