I've heard from a few people on NCEuro... what does THSCC think about Inception?

I for one think it's one of the best movies in a LOOOOONG time... in my top five all-time at the moment

Easily the best movie I will see all year. I went in with high hopes and came out impressed. The story, "gimick", cast, etc... were all great.

One of the VERY few movies where I felt like clapping at the end (but I didn't, cause ya just don't do that here in New Bern LOL.)

The ending was simultaneously open-ended AND extremely satisfying... very hard to do IMO.

I never go to the movies but I think my wife and I are getting a baby sitter for this one. I've heard it's awesome and from others mediocre. We'll see...

I am generally not a movie fan (If I am going to sit still for that long it has got to be really really good), and certainly not a Tom Cruise fan but I must agree that Vanilla Sky was a great movie. I guess I am going to have to go see Inception, even though I understand it 2:30 long. Is it necessary to see it on the big screen to get the full effect or can I wait for dvd?

Definitely needs to be seen on the biggest screen you can afford to see it on! I hope maybe to catch it on IMAX at some point.

I think most people forget, or don't realize, that Vanilla Sky was a Cameron Crowe flick. You could damn near fill a top ten list with his movies alone if you include writer and/or director credits. (Singles, Say Anything, Jerry Maguire, Almost Famous, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Elizabethtown)

Like I told Tower... my top five (or ten) is basically based on the fact that I can watch them at any time of day, no matter what kind of mood I'm in, even if I've just watched it six other times... if I've got nothing better to do, and one of them is on, I'll watch it again, and again.

There are plenty of movies that might have some spectacular scenes, (acted, or visualized)... but to be in my top ten, I shouldn't have to suffer through an hour or more of a movie just to experience the good parts.

EDIT... one piece of criteria should be that you shouldn't "forget about" a movie when talking about any top whatever list... but yeah Raising Arizona should have been on my list above.
