Asuka in Cary also offers buy-one-get-one-free on all rolls all the time, and they have really fresh and large variety of interesting rolls. I've always been more a fan of nigiri sushi over rolls, but Asuka's rolls are so good they've moved to the top of my list.
+1 for Asuka, it is by far my favorite place around here, been there dozens of times. The 2 for 1 rolls put it on our work lunch rotation. Second favorite is Sushi Tsune on the corner of Hillsborough and Gorman St right next to Arby's. Is more traditional than Asuka, high quality ingredients as well.
Laura and I had a really bad experience at Shiki in Durham. They put us at a table that could see partially into the kitchen. Then we watched them spill assorted things in the kitchen throughout the night, use dirty napkins to clean it up then leave the napkins on the floor just walking over them for the rest of the night. Service was horrible as well, it seemed busy but not particularly slammed. The sushi was decent but between the service and questionable cleanliness in the kitchen we usually head to Asuka or Sushi Tsune depending on where we are.
I also did the 2 for 1 at Sushi Blues and wasn't terribly impressed at the quality of the rolls. They tasted a bit off and didn't sit so well with me.
