Here’s what was parked next to me last night at the Park. Sorry for the bad phone pictures, but it was late and dark.

Fore those who would care…it’s a 1984 Mustang GT Turbo, and not an SVO.
According to Google only 3,700 of these were built, and according to the owner the optional intercooler was ordered by less than 200 people.
There was an authenticity sticker on the rear windows by the national Mustang Club and another vintage club. While I only got to talk to the guy for about 5 minutes, he is the original owner and the car is a true survivor.

It wasn’t a car that stands out by any means, but I appreciate how rare of a car it was.

Looks like it is on the original TRX wheels/tires too.

Sexy Fox!!!

Great Find... I've never heard of that combo. I wonder if the T-bird turbo came with a intercooler?

It didn't initially, but I'm pretty sure I recall later in its life cycle it had the SVO Mustang engine/intercooler.

Nope, that 2.3 liter four (turbo or not) was about the most awful thing ever built. And I don't like the grills on the 83-84 Mustangs.

The Mustang I really regret not buying was the 1982 Mustang GT

which boasted a whopping 157 HP 2 bbl 5.0L V8. That was 37 HP more than 1981's 4.2L V8, and 63 HP more than 1981 3.3L I6 Mustang I was driving, but I could not justify trading in a one year old car or paying the sky-high insurance rates.

I trust you are referring to this:

I stand by my claim. And you would agree with me, if you had driven that dreadful 1982 Mustang dealer loaner that Howard Ford always saddled me with when my 1981 Mustang wanted a vacation. Dried blood metallic paint, dried blood vinyl upholstery, dried blood carpeting with cigarette burn accents. Preloaded ash tray with supplemental ash-spillover. And that @#$*@%$ 2.3 liter four with a 3 speed auto, buzzing away like the King Of Loud Buzzing Things, barely able to stay ahead of your grandmother's Volare wagon on the Raleigh beltline.
