not much experience in this area, so any help would be appreciated.

usage: tooling around the paddock, auto-x, neighborhood

requirements: electric, no seat, support up to 250lbs (no i'm not 250lbs, but i want it to be able to support more than me  ).

in my 20mins of online searching i've found crazy expensive go-peds for over $1500 that fit the bill. i'm not willing to spend that kind of $$$. i found some eZips that seems to be ok, but they have a seat and i just don't want a seat.

there are some less expensive gas powered options, but i really want the instant-go of electric.

anyone know of a good brandname or local shop i could check one out?

Sorry for not answering your question and choosing to state the obvious instead :)

Chris, if you decide to use pedal power instead, I have a folding bicycle that you can try out.

I keep on thinking of getting an old Honda 50 or 70cc for this. This may have something to do with my mom not letting me have one when I was a kid. In fact that is probably why I do all that I do.

If I recall correctly, there was a place across from Meredith College on Hillsborough Street that I used to get wings at. It was a sports bar, but in that same building was a place that sold nothing but electric scooters. Granted, that was about 6 years ago... - AB

If Chris doesn't want it - I may be interested.

You can check out my 1970's String Ray Moped this weekend.
Once you ride it, you'll forget all about that electric crap. 30 mph and 150 mpg.

Cline you just inspired me to spend some time this weekend getting a trailer rack fabricated to take my CT90 to an autocross. And to actually come to an autocross again someday..

i saw some people out one day, on a collapsible bicycle.. on the mtn bike trail at lake crabtree. Now that was surprising, given the rather small tires on some of those bikes. Also, the lack of suspension.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

Chris,

While browsing the SkyMall catalog yesterday I saw this and thought of you:

Electric Scooter X-140

I thought when I saw that at your house it was taken apart and that was after you sold the MGB so is that an old picture or a new MG?

I guess these are already sold, I can't say what my wife would say if I brought home 18 mini bikes.
