Toyota has recently announced its G Sports conversion car series that will be sold through Toyota-brand dealers in Japan throughout 2010. These G’s series vehicles are designed for owners interested in having a unique vehicle and several of them took center stage at Toyota’s booth at the 2010 Tokyo Auto Salon. We have heard plenty about Toyota’s FT-86 and the company’s G’s version stole the show. Dozens gathered around the car during exclusive media hours in order to see it up close and personal. Plenty of carbon fiber accents can be seen on this extremely stylish and polished design, making this FT-86 Concept even more impressive than the original.

Along with the standard carbon fiber goodies, there’s a vented carbon fiber hood and a massive rear spoiler. We also noticed an aggressive new exhaust setup.

Toyota is hoping this model will be a hit with enthusiasts, tuners and help get a younger demographic into its showrooms.

7tune is at the 2010 TAS press day for what is a bumper event, jam packed with automotive goodness from all over the globe. We’ve got loads to cover from the event including the latest from the tuners, some special insights and loads of delectable eye candy of the female variety.

G’s and Toyota have been kind enough to offer us a closer look at the car so a feature is to follow but for now, let your minds wander over the huge proposition this car represents to the future of the aftermarket tuning industry.

One of the cars generating a lot of press is the Toyota FT86, in this particular case tuned by G’s. Upon closer inspection it appears the FT86 is indeed sporting a front mount intercooler, ending debates over whether or not the car will be an N/A only special. A brief conversation with one of Toyota’s engineers revealed some interesting information.

The G’s FT86 is indeed a turbocharged boxer 4, mated to a 6 speed Toyota gearbox. Further detailing includes a host of carbon fiber parts, RE11 Bridgestone rubber and assorted aero parts.
