$22K is not bad. If you could get that for $20K that would be a good deal.

Wheels and tires are your main cost to AX that. Unless you buy really fancy custom shocks.

You die-hard Bimmer boys know you are no more going to buy a Z06 than I am an M3... The day I see Chuck and Mike running Z06s in SS I'll sell mine and get an M3 :lol:

...and if one of us shows up in a GT3 or Lotus for SS?

That's so 2 years ago. The current hot ticket is an ASP C5 to a '93 ES MR2. :wink:

I think that is a fair price. As Graham stated, offer $20k and go from there.

Last Fall, I bought my 03 C5Z with 25k miles for $24k. It was filthy and needed new front tires, otherwise bone stock down to the unopened VHS tape. Two other negotiating points on my car was a cut in the A-pillar padding on the driver's side (I got them to replace it) and peeling edges on the hood blanket (I have never replaced). Dealer was orginally asking about $26k, dropped to $25k. I offered $23.5 and we started from there... and I had my checkbook in hand to show him I was serious.

Last Fall, a buddy bought his 03 C5Z with 29k miles for $24,800. His car appeared to be cleaner and had good tires, otherwise bone stock, but missing the tire inflation kit and the front license plate cover.


Whatever you do, for some assurance that the car does not have any issues, have it inspected by a local GM dealership. I spent ~$160 at my local dealership to have my car looked over before I bought it. I tried to negotiate that into my deal as well and I ended up paying for it myself.

I think these cars are starting to level out as far as price. Or at least they are slowing down on the rate of depreciation somewhat.
