No wax?

Nope. Only Zaino. Wax doesn't last long enough. I maybe part waxer but I'm now a lazy one...

Armco paint extra? :P

Never hit Armco. Tire wall only. Lots of black marks and scratches. Still drives the same and runs the same lap times. Just not as pretty... I probably won't wax it anymore. If I keep it I may do a wrap on it.

Mike,

Just to tempt you on looking at E46 M3s priced low:

http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/sale-wanted/153409-2003-imola-red-m3-north-florida.html

He's at $15k OBO and wants to sell immediately. Might be worth a call at least. If the car has had things like thrust bushings, clutch, RTAB, etc, along with records of upkeep, this could be an interesting deal.

God bless it I have a soft spot for Imola...

I like to change my mind about my car mix. Currently I'm thinking about selling the track car M3, keeping the 540i (which is really a great family hauler daily driver) and buying either an S2000 or Boxster play car and getting back into autocross.

But then the new track (NCAR) is opening, which has me thinking I should keep the M3 since I LOVE driving new tracks...

I know, cry me a river :)

How does this car, mileage, price sound?

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=p&car_id=276779511&dealer_id=65136929&car_year=2002&rdm=1270064767563&lastStartYear=1981&num_records=100&model=CORV&systime=&make2=&highlightFirstMakeModel=&start_year=2002&engine=&keywordsfyc=__ejA2__&keywordsrep=122048054&certified=&body_code=0&fuel=&only_price=1&awsp=false&search_type=both&distance=300&marketZipError=false&search_lang=en&showZipError=y&sownerid=79678&make=CHEV&color=&keywords_display=z06&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&min_price=&drive=&default_sort=priceDESC&seller_type=b&position=top&position=top&max_mileage=&style_flag=1&sort_type=distance&address=27614&advanced=y&only_photo=1&end_year=2004&transmission=Manual&doors=&max_price=&cardist=224&standard=false

It's tempting to pick something like this up for some fun in SS. I'm not sure that it would lose much in value over the say the next 3 years -- anyone have thoughts on that? With 23k miles now, I could see me putting maybe 3k miles/year at the most on it, so in 3 years it might have 33k miles. Of course add in cost of wheels, tire trailer, hitch, sway bar, shocks, etc.

Maybe the car would sell for $20k even or thereabouts if the seller is ready to move it.

That seems like a lot of fun for around $20k and it even has the original "VHS tape from GM".

Looks like someone's toy waiting to be broken in!

22.5 is high for that car. my 2004 with 12,875 miles went for 27.7

20k is probably the max the market will bear.

in three years it might still be worth 17k.

Les, I see your sickness is getting progressively worse, and I for one am glad to see it. You just bought the hemi magnum and now you're selling the vette that you ran for what, 1 season?

Great job!!! 8)

If I didn't have my lovely wife, I'd be right there with you. BTW, at my last count, I'm up to 34 cars over my life time.... I need more, times running out as 12/21/12 is right around the corner

You owned a perfectly good C5 Z06 already and you had to get rid of it for that C4. Have you seen the error of your ways and are going to go back to a C5?

I heard that going from a C5 Z06 to a 1989 Honda Civic Si prepped for ST is the hot ticket right now. :D
