The wife was cooking on the stove this evening and all of a sudden she stated there was a ball of flame coming out of the top of the stove. The stove went dead, which was a good thing. An inspection showed the breaker had tripped. With a little help from my electrically inclined neighbor, we found burn marks on the controller unit for the stove/clock.

Has any one ordered appliance stuff on line? It's a kenmore, but Sears stuff can be pricey. Can anyone recommend an on line appliance source?

When I had a built-in Micro go out, I found info here semi-useful:

www.fixitnow.com

and they link to these guys for parts:

www.repairclinic.com

It's been 5 years or more, so can't really recall if that's the same place I got my stuff from, but it looks familiar.

When my dryer went flaky, I found the part (used) on ebay for a fourth of the cheapest new option... I decided to chance it and have been going strong for well over a year - so don't rule that option out.

I've ordered from repairclinic and I think appliance parts online too. I usually order from the place that is a)cheapest and b) has the best drawings/photos so I make sure I get what I want. I think i got my icemaker bin from repair clinic and it came right away. Now all i gotta do is make time to take it out again and reverse the connections I put in backwards so the ice crusher runs the right way

I have used Cashwells locally since they stock most anything you are likely to need and I can pick it up quickly. They are in Garner near the 70-401 split. They also have a website:

I've used easyapplianceparts.com and appliancepartspro.com in the past with good results - both were fast and inexpensive with usable drawings.
