So who's going this year? I'm headed down thursday with my brother for the full 4 day experience.

I took out a 4th mortgage on the house and got the Champion club package.

I'm renting a car to drive on the track after the race... Hopefully, there will be something decent available.

My wife gave me a pass to go, but that was before she fully understood the full gravity of doing Lemons the week end after. I haven't taken advantage of the offer since then. I keep saying I'm going next year. Maybe next year.

I've been saying the same for ages. It's hard to imagine the last time I was there was 1977...back in the days of glowing red turbos all night on the 935s. I'm ready to go again...maybe next year. :)

The sound of the RX8's downshifting is worth the price of admission.

As for the Koni Challenge race, currently 13 new mustangs and 9 M3's registered. The Koni race is gonna be awesome!!

I'm going.

Looks like Continental Tire took over sponsorship from Koni for the GS/ST series.

Arthur, we're gonna hang out in the Subaru teams pits during the Koni race so stop by.

Stock up on red bull and espresso to stay awake. I have made the mistake several times of having a couple beers saturday night which makes me sleepy. I crawl in the truck and sleep like a baby even with the cars roaring. Best sleep since 5th period study hall...

David,

We talked at the club meeting Wednesday, right?

Of course, I have to cheer for the Mustang teams. In particular my "close personal friend" Dean Martin http://www.grand-am.com/drivers/driver. ... k&did=1289 who was our factory liason when THSCC hosted the autocross segment of an SVT press intro day at VIR in 2002. Also, Raleigh's Tom Long http://www.grand-am.com/drivers/driver. ... k&did=2228 is entered.

I've done the all-nighter thing before, but I don't need to anymore. (The experience of riding around the darkened infield camping areas in a rented convertible at 2 AM, while ex-THSCC president Kurt Spitzner excitedly pointed out AMC products, left permanent scars.) Missing six hours in the middle of the night to sleep, when it's cold outside, won't mess up my spectating experience.
