I'm about to trade in my 2011 e90 for a new Golf sportwagon for the wife. I've removed the vent gauge I had installed so I could have a real temperature gauge in the car. If you have a 335, this is a nice unit to have as it reads boost as well. Along w/ gauge readouts, it has what's considered a Turner "exclusive" items, which is 0-60 and 0-100 timing along w/ 100-0 and 60-0 braking. This also shows the real speed of car and not the 1% forced error that the main speedo lists. This reads directly off of the ODB II port and works on '08-'13 cars. This also doubles as a code reader and has reset functions.

http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-2270- ... -2013.aspx

I purchased this for $409, will sell for $200. This is nicely made. Just need to remove the left vent, disassemble the movable vent flaps and insert this. Install instructions are on line. Let me know if your interested. I'll let this sit here for a week before it hits NCEURO...

Donnie,

Do you have an E91 (wagon) with a 6MT?

Neat, those are such unicorns! I've been semi hunting for one with sport package, heated seats, comfort access, etc...basically impossible to find.

funny, same here. Wanted to trade in the e90 on a wagon, but they don't exist. Wife likes the way the BMW drives, but we need a bit of utility since the escape is going away. Had a chance at a nice blue e91 wagon w/ the sports package, but the timing wasn't right. Oh well... Right now we've narrowed it down to the new golf sport wagon, subi forester and impreza, honda crosstour and the acura mdx. So many choices....

If you happen to come across a nice wagon, please let me know... Looking for a 2010-2012. Love that NA motor.

Chip sell the blue one quickly? it was nice, even if it was an automatic.

Actually it stayed there about a month. That was a VERY nice example, wished I'd bought it now, but like I said, timing wasn't right.

I've got this friend...not a car enthusiast at all. Not mechanically inclined...at all. Never done any competitive driving and doesn't ever car to. He saw my car and asked me about it. I told him it was kind of a unicorn, but why I wanted it. He was intrigued. Asked more questions. Later says "I'm going to look for one." I remind him of the unicorn status but say hey, if you wait like me you'll probably find one in 3-4 months. That's what it took me, and I had to settle for no sport package or heated seats. Mine was ordered basically with nothing by an Army guy while stationed in Germany. They let you order a US-spec car there and keep it there while you're there, then you ship it home when you go home. But being sort of poor, relatively speaking, the reason he got RWD and manual was cost.

So friend emails me a week later and says "hey, what about this one" and points me to a car. Asshole found one just like you mention and the price wasn't even bad. It was about four grand more than mine and probably only worth two grand more than mine, but he had the dough and wanted it and bought it. Still has it, and I'm pissed every time I see it. The only saving grace is it is white with the "cinnamon" interior and fake wood shit. Mine, being a stripper, has black interior and the brushed aluminum, both of which I like a LOT better (and mine is white, too).

But of course he's beat the hell out of his already, too. Someone has hit him in a parking lot in the rear bumper, the front left fender has a major dent where his kid dropped some heavy camping gear on it, and it was from a front license plate state and has holes in the front. He swears he's going to get it all fixed, but I think it'll languish and turn into shit. *sigh*

Here's mine now:

Image

I did have a tree fall on mine while parked at a park in Chapel Hill. Only damaged the front bumper cover, which was drilled for a GERMAN front plate anyway. But I'm going to replace it with an M front bumper and foglights. Already have them, just gotta get it done. Will try to remember to post pics here when it's done.

The unicorns are great until the your better half has to drive it and can't stand a manual.

well, after much talk at the house, looks like Pam has decided she would just as soon drive the e90 over buying a new car. Saves me some bucks.... That said, the vent gauge sale is a no go. Going to reinstall it. For you e9x owners, I do recommend this gauge. Nice having the temp readout and a built in code reader. I would recommend retro fitting some sort of air deflector to aim the air away from your hand. Once the gauge is installed it just blows air w/ no way to redirect. Can make your hand either hot or cold depending on the temp you're running. I found myself constantly moving my hand away from the vent if it was very cold out or hot.

Ha, my better half won't have a car without a manual if she can help it. We had to order her E90 ages ago to get the 6MT. :)

Donnie, the car looks fantastic! Have you done the 3-stage manifold and tune yet?
