2004 Velocity Red Mazda3 S Sedan
5 speed, sport package. Basically every option that could come on the car at that time except a sunroof.
Xenon headlights, leather, navigation system, side airbags, ABS.
The good:
I've owned this car since new, synthetic oil changes its whole life
Clutch was replaced at 145k
AC was replaced at 185k
Mazdaspeed (AEM) intake
Koni sport shocks
Engine is very strong still, burns no oil
Transmission is still very smooth
Mileage is almost all highway miles (I live in Cary, and work in Sanford), still returns 28 mpg for me as a commuter
Paint is still in good condition, shines well, looks very good for a car its age
The bad:
Shows signs of a car that has been daily driven since 2004
Cracked leather on drivers seat, the rest of the leather is showing some age
Check engine light is on (the VCTS flaps are stuck open, haven't diagnosed it farther than that, doesn't affect function or mpg at all)
Airbag light is on, intermittent, haven't diagnosed
211k miles
TPMS batteries are dead, so the TPMS light stays on
I'm very close to moving on a 2012 MX-5. I will see what they will give me for trade in, but figured I'd see if there was any interest here. KBB private party value for "Fair" condition is $3k. I'd take a good bit less for a THSCC member.
