2002 Kodiak Skamper K230F 23’ Hybrid Camper - $5950

Great floorplan with a slide, and very clean inside and out -- a great first camper or upgrade from tents or a popup! Under 4000lb empty, easily towed with 1/2 ton vehicle or less. Spacious interior with couch slide, two queen sized fold out tent bunks. Tents are in great shape. Sleeps up to 8 with the flip-down couch and table area that converts into a bed. Has a bathroom with toilet, shower, sink, and cabinet. Everything works great -- A/C and furnace, 3 burner gas stove, refrigerator/freezer (AC or gas powered), outside shower, AM/FM/CD, double sink in kitchen, microwave/fan combo, oven, lots of storage, 15 ft awning, outdoor 2-burner stove, dual LP tanks w/ auto changeover, onboard battery and inverter, and a whole lot more.

We purchased from the original owner and have had a lot of great memories over the last 3 years, and have cared for and upgraded it. Selling only to upgrade, we’ve been using it more than we ever thought we would. Normal wear and tear, and only a few minor issues which don’t affect usability at all, I am sure it will give the next owners years of memorable trips. In the last year we put on new tires (including spare), new awning, repacked wheel bearings, resealed roof, added a rear bumper mount hitch receiver (for a bike rack) and more.

Here’s what the original sales brochure says:
http://www.dutchmen.com/image/data/docu ... rature.PDF
“The Skamper Kodiak is packed with features without packing a big price. Its innovative design includes a European style ultra lightweight frame and all aluminum super structure that give it strength and durability along with towing ease. For active families on the go, expandable travel trailers add sleeping space without adding length and extra weight to the unit. Bunk ends feature sturdy CAVLAR-15 tents that carry a 5-year warranty to ensure top quality and satisfaction.

I will be happy to show how everything works to a first time camper owner. It is in my driveway hooked up to 110V power and is available immediately for sale. Clear title in my name and in my possession. Located in Cary, NC (27519). Call Mike at 919-454-5445 or reply to ad with any questions.

That's a good deal on that camper and it's the right time to sell, so if you're interested, jump on this! There just aren't many campers out there PERIOD with this much room and weigh so little.

Me, I can't wait to see what he's gonna upgrade to!

Thanks for the props Donnie. I'll show pictures of the upgrade after this one sells, I don't want to give anyone ideas :) It's nothing special but it is in a different league than this (and I paid accordingly).

Note to anyone considering the Skamper ... we used it a lot more than we thought we would. Jordan Lake 3x per year, week at Disney, and being on a Chump team I've towed it to every race in the last 2 years. Even taking it to the track for an HPDE is doable if you're sharing a car with someone or have a SO who can follow you in the track car.

Got one of these: http://www.cruiserrv.com/shadow-cruiser ... tions.html. Still an "entry level" camper. 26', 4700lb, electric superslide, electric awning, DSI water heater, hard sided, queen + 2 bunk beds. Got a great deal (MSRP was $29k!). Have another 20 or so nights planned to use it this year. Last year I spent 26 nights in the old camper!

So here's my full setup:

Image

The motorhome is a 2011 Itasca Navion 24J with the overhead bunk and sofa instead of the dinette:

Image

The trailer is a Livin Lite VRV 18x8.5:

Image

I got it with only the curbside tip-out bunk, and the other side has a window and fold-out sofa. I have the full floorplan otherwise, including the bath and fridge. Here it is with two camo-cots setup in the back:

Image

The Navion can tow 5k and this is about 3700 empty. My family of four can fit in the Navion, but it is tight. With the trailer I can take a motorcycle or two and bicycles for everyone quite easily, and if the kids want to take a friend or two, there's room for that. Plus mom and I get the RV all to ourselves if we take the trailer.

Or I can use *just* the trailer along with my Sprinter passenger van should I need to haul toys but NOT need to worry about sleeping as many people. The trailer is *all* aluminum construction, too, so it's virtually indestructible. Not big enough to hold a car, but neither the van nor the RV has enough towing capacity for that anyway.

And for my yearly mountain biking trip with my seven biking buddies, I'll use *both* the RV and the van/trailer and we can sleep six dudes indoors and two will sleep in a tent. The van is 12 passenger, but remove the rear seat to drop the capacity to 8 and I can fit four bikes in the back (easily) and four on a rack on the back and we have our shuttle vehicle.
