If you are saying the paint color is burgandy with a tan top, the car is NOT a 10AE. The 10AE cars were "sapphire blue mica" in color.

Well coupled with the obvious fact that all 10AEs are 1999 MY :).

Sounds like the Special Edition, not 10AE
This special Miata includes all the items of the LS plus Mahogany Mica paint, 15 inch polished wheels, appeareance package with fog lights, a Nardi wood steering wheel, shift knob, dash trim and hand-brake grip. This car also comes with a 6 speed shifter, unique beige top, boot cover, shifter boot, carpet and seats. In addition there are white gauge faces with chrome trim rings, chrome door handles, Stainless steel scuff plates and uniquie keys with beige head covers.

Yup, anyway, a great shape, all stock 10AE with meticulous maintenance and great paint and newish top might fetch $7k if it had sub 75k miles, but an SE with 87k.....thinking more like $5-5500 but that's just my opinion of course.

No kidding? I had no idea NBs had gotten that cheap. It makes me rethink the idea of repainting the Mercedes, and taking Les' suggestion and buying a Miata. I've never owned one.

Thanks to all of you for the instant correction service :) I've updated the original post to say it's a "Special Edition" Miata, with all of the things Ram listed in his reply. I don't know if that makes it worth more or less than a 10AE, but if you're interested in contacting the seller, PM me.

You won't regret it. In my opinion, a 99 or 00 would be ideal. 5 speed if it will be autocrossed alot, possibly a 6 speed if not. If you are looking to keep it stock or at least somewhat stock, look for a sport package (bilsteins, 5 speed, early 99's had manual windows).

<Hijack>

Speaking of which, I happen to know of a trophy winning (has a couple FTD's in CS trim, even), sport-package and ABS equipped 2000 LS that is tentatively for sale. Removable hard-top equipped, Koni's, has Hard Dog HDHCDD roll bar, Hard Dog harness bar, and Momo Start seats currently installed (have and can re-install stock seats if preferred, but I like the extra headroom afforded by the Start's).

~78k miles, as I recall.

I'm not going to completely hijack this thread with other details, but those looking for a near turnkey AX/track car in these range of prices might PM me....
