I’m contemplating selling the BMW and trying to keep the mustang. There’s not a lot of info on the web in regard to pricing for older BMW’s. Considering the condition and scarceness of the e30’s from cars.com and autorader.com, I’m thinking of selling this for around 5 grand. The car is….

> ’90 325i convertible
> manual top, replaced < 5 years ago
> 146k miles on the odo
> all stock
> bronzit on beige, paint condition is not the best in the world, could use a respray or at least have Karl work on it for a weekend ;)
> automatic tranny w/ new fluids and filter and kick down cable
> euro headlights (have the stocks lights)
> tires are in good shape and rocking the stock 14” wheels
> needs drivers side seat bolster repaired

Other suspension and mechanical items are in good shape. I’ve been doing maintenance on and off over the last year and the car is shaping up nicely to be just a daily driver. I just don’t drive this car enough to keep it. Any suggestions on where to find a good pricing guide?

I hate to be pessimistic but I think there is a very low likelihood of selling it for $5k. If it were a hard top and a manual tranny, one of us weirdos would probably pay $5k if it were super well maintained and come with lots of spares etc.

That's why I'm hunting for a pricing guide.... Yeah, that may be a little ambitious.

Most are in the 3k range, with a lot being worth less. Auto trans probably puts most enthusiasts out of the market, notwithstanding the convertible aspects of it. Check out pricing on R3vlimited and bimmerforums for ideas. Maybe post up some pics? Maintenance?

I don't know if you remember my father in law's 325i a few years ago, but....

91' 325i
4 door
Auto
~120k (can't really remember)
In very very nice shape with a full dealership history.
Paint was a little dull, but otherwise in great shape and completely stock with BMW replacement parts always used.

IIRC we listed it for 4k, after months he finally took ~2500$

Looking at RoadFly.com e30 listings, looks like an appropriate price would be between 3500-4500. Have to think on this some more before I offically post up for sale.

There is a strong regional bias at work in prices for those, too. If you could prove it would pass a California emissions inspection, you could get probably get $5k for it in California. You'd have to sell it on Ebay or something, though.
