For sale - full set of Moton ClubSport dampers for 2004 - 2008 RX-8. Excellent condition - no leaks, damage, or any other issues. Asking $2995.

Returning my RX-8 to stock, so I have no need for this coilover shock package anymore. Purchased in early 2011 and used for STX class autocross (13 events) and 2 HPDE track events at VIR, approx. 3000 miles total.

Independent compression and rebound damping adjustment (7 positions each), simple adjustability for handling performance and ride quality. For additional info, see Moton Club Sport Damper System Mazda RX8 03-08

Includes the following springs, based on set-up recommendations from multiple national level autocrossers (see also http://www.pdfhost.net/index.php?Action=Download&File=af39e89c6279208a17251e50748f8352):

*Front - Hyperco 8A0500; 500lb/in; 8" length; 2.25" inside diameter
*Rear - Hyperco 7B0350; 350 lb/in; 7" length; 2.50" inside diameter; plus zero rate helper spring

The front shocks are fully assembled, ready to bolt on and go, including Moton spherical bearing top hats and Moton 2.25" spring perches.

The rear shocks only require installation of Mazda upper mounts from your OEM RX-8 rear shocks (or an aftermarket upper mount).

Also included are the following tools and spare parts, as shown in the photo below:

*Pair of custom spanner wrenches (for ride height adjustment)
*Extra set of zero rate helper springs
*Set of front 2.5" ID upper spring perches (anodized aluminum)
*Set of front 2.5" ID height adjustable lower spring perches (anodized aluminum)
*Pair of bumpstops
*Extra set of rear 2.5" ID upper spring perches (delrin)

Current spring height setting is 1" drop from stock ride height.

Asking $2995 for the complete set. Local pick-up in Cary, NC is free; Ground shipping to anywhere in the continental US is $50 flat rate.

Unfortunately, no. I put some Konis on my RX-8 and will be running it in CS this season.

Will probably end up running TIR eventually, but I have an old set of Hoosier A3S05's I plan to burn up first, while waiting to hear more about the new street tires being released this year.

Geez, competitive 18" tires are EXPENSIVE!

Are the Motons not usable in stock class trim?

Sure, but only if you figure out a way to put stock springs on them. Which can be done, and it has been done, but it's usually a PITA, anyway. Then he'd have to have them revalved.

^^^this

The OEM springs, both front and rear, have an open coil design on their lower end, which engages into a formed & welded metal tab on the stock shock body. Adapting that design to the threaded Moton shock body is a major challenge.

You basically want to cannibalize a set of OE shocks to cut that perch off of.

For what you're doing, sounds like the easy button makes sense.
