Hi there. I have a near-abandoned 1989 Acura Integra project car that I keep meaning to dust off and get running right but I have noticed every time I try to work on it, something else in my life fails and it gets pushed to the backburner. It was going to be a street-legal rallycross car.

I'm willing to sell it for slightly-more-than-scrap-value to move it out of here in the next 3 days. If there are no takers I'll probably keep working on getting it running right and price it accordingly. I'm sure it's something simple. The rebuilt engine is probably worth $300-400 by itself.

If you're interested, make me an offer over scrap value and we'll talk.

The good

- 89 integra, D16a1, 5-speed
- Engine rebuilt with new rings, bearings
- Rebuilt head, valve job, new stem seals, etc
- new KYB GR2 shocks all around
- strut brace
- starts, runs, and drives. Perfect idle.
- Would probably pass inspection with new wipers
- Decent tread all-season tires on 14" steelies

The bad

- Engine won't take any load. Misfires and bucks under load. I bet it's a distributor problem, or some sensor
- It's a hideously ugly gold 4-door car with a red rear bumper. Lots of dents and scrapes
- Interior is stripped of carpet, headliner, back seats. Door panels and dash are intact
- Been sitting for a few months with the windows open, a but musty inside but not terrible
- Currently no battery
- No AC or PS
- Cracked windshield

Reply if you want to see a picture, I'll try to get one up.

On older cars, if hte engine would not take load it was fuel delivery problem.. My sentra once the mass air flow or something like that got messed up, and it would idle but would not take any revs.

on RX-7s this was often a problem with the air flow meter. If that wasn't it, the TPS was the next step.

Does the Integra have a flapper type air meter?

No MAF on that car, usually purely intake pressure via the MAP sensor for flow assumptions.

Price and pics on craigslist. Anyone need a rallycross car? I'd cut a good deal for anyone willing to let me drive it someday on the dirt, and I'll help you fix the running problem.
