I know all of you STR guys probably have some stock stuff lying around taking up space. Now is your chance to turn some of it into money. Hopefully not a bunch of money, but, money nevertheless. :) Here is the post I put on the Central Carolinas section of s2kca:

The time has come to start preparing to sell my dearly beloved 2004 Silverstone. It's not all sadness, though. I got roughly seven years of fun from this car. It's just going undriven now, and my wife needs a car that works properly far more than I need a second car that sits around all the time.

In preparation for doing the previously unthinkable, I need to source some stock AP2 parts. I will probably first try to sell the car as a turnkey B-Stock autocross package, but since it's not a CR, it's not quite the "car to have" nationally anymore. It's also the wrong car for STR, since it's a 2004 and I can't use a Hondata on it. I'm after the following:

1. AP2V1 wheels. They need not have tires, but it's fine if they do. I have two sets of these wheels, but they're both pretty beat up from living life on a tire trailer.

2. AP2 shocks. I have the rears, somewhere, but I guess I may as well buy them as a set.

3. AP2 exhaust. My old exhaust is long gone, and besides, I had some lightweight mufflers welded into it in place of the stock cans anyway.

Let me know if any of you have this stuff, and if you do, how much you're looking to sell it for.

I will dig up the name of the guy that bought my car. He took the stock wheels but I don't think he had any plans to use them. They are in really nice shape IIRC.

Not long gone! I still have it and I never used it! Been sitting outside and/or in a storage shed but it should still be usable.

FWIW, the STR guy who won Nationals this year was in an AP2v1, not the 2006 that shows on the results page. So it's still viable for STR, if you want to market it that way.

Sorry to see it (and you) go...although co-drives would be easy to come by if you ever got the itch.

Jeremy - replied. Thanks!

Mike - that would be great on both counts, thanks!

Steven - I'm not disappearing permanently. :) To be completely honest, I've been considering selling the car for a while now, even before I got married or even engaged. It's not getting driven, and I can use the money for other things right now. It was only this past weekend, while working on the leaky mess that is my wife's horrible Camry, that I realized that I need to act. It's amazing that car ever has any oil in it at all, the entire back of the motor is soaked.

Slightly off topic: what I'd really like to do is buy one of these, and take an epic road trip in it. Including a stop at Nationals, to have the slowest, but most interesting, car in STX. :)

Cossies are awesome. Just remember that it's a dog-leg and "R" doesn't stand for "Race".

I Think older mercedes are the must under appreciated car out there, I'm constantly looking at craigslist for them. I don't need any more cars but I look nothingtheless. this one is very interesting and would probably be fun to drive but I think he is drunk on his asking price

Sadly, he might be stone sober. Good 2.3-16s are getting really hard to find now. Only appx. 2000 ever made it to the US, and of those, something like half were automatics. This one looks a little rough on the surface, but I'll bet it would clean right up if it's as original as they claim it to be. I've seen occasional time capsule examples trading for low teens, so this one might be priced on the high side of "about right." Still far cheaper than an equivalent E30 M3. For now.

If you want to take a truly epic road trip your selling car that would be more appropriate for it, having just taken a 2400 mile road trip in my NC I can tell you other than cargo space, that is the way to do it.
