Posting for a good friend:

http://raleigh.craigslist.org/cto/3239979849.html

"Selling our sweet 15 passenger van. Recent new spark plugs and compression testing done. No problems.
Newer brakes.
New wheel bearings.

Used for the last 3 years as a third vehicle. Travelled up and down the east coast loaded up with bikes and people.

Great for a work truck or just a fun camping vehicle.

Lately it has been collecting more dust than miles, so time to let it go.

** A lot of people have no-showed on seeing the van, even to purchase. I am reposting one more time here and then it will be on autotrader as of this weekend.**

V-8
188K
Automatic
Power Windows
Cruise Control
15 Passenger (last 2 rows have been removed for storage, I have the seats still and they will sell with the van)
Spare tire and jack.

Please contact me to set up a time to see the vehicle.
Title is clear and in hand. The graphics can come off. It will take some time but they are not permanent."

Just checked and it's still available. He took it off C-L but will be on Autotrader tomorrow.

Hmm, I wonder how long it is (whether it will fit in my shop) and if it has a trailer hitch (and if so, what class hitch).

with the long rear overhang it wouldn't be very well suited to towing anything heavy

In several months time I'd be all over this as a band bus -- my synth gear alone almost fills the back of the RX now -- but I really can't possibly swing it yet. If people are still no-showing for this in December, though...

Not necessarily true since it is a 1 ton chassis afaik. It could have a gross combined rating of over 12,500 lbs.

If interested I suggest verifying which engine (360/5.9L versus 318/5.2L) and asking for the various factory ratings from the id plate. I suspect it has fuel injection and maybe a 4 speed automatic.

FYI for whatever it might be worth regarding accuracy:

http://www.edmunds.com/dodge/ram-van/19 ... style=8504

Exterior
Maximum towing capacity: 8000 lbs.
Maximum payload: 3146.0 lbs.
Length: 231.2 in.
Gross weight: 7500 lbs.
Curb weight: 4354 lbs.
Wheel base: 127.6 in.

IIRC, a class 3/4 hitch for that van should not run more than ~$125-150 and installation is easy-peasy.

FWIW.

$155 shipped with the Curt brand.

I've bought 3 Curt hitches this year and they rock for the $$$.
