Listing for a former TarHeeler

The car is a 94 Mazda RX-7 that has been fully modified for track use. IMO, it cannot reasonably be converted back to a street legal status as the specs list should make obvious. Vehicle does not have street legal equipment, A/C, etc..

Driveline - Motor is a fully ported single turbo conversion to a T-78 Run by a TEC3 engine management system, it is tuned to run on 100 octane race fuel and makes 470 rwhp and 430 lb-ft at 18 lbs boost.. Transmission is rebuilt factory 5 speed with a "truck" (shorter) 5th gear installed. Centerforce clutch and 4.30 rear end gear ratio. Dual oil coolers, large intercooler, race radiator, stainless exhaust. Full instrumentation including boost, oil pressure, and AFR gauges, Hot Lap timer, programmable shift light, etc..

Body - 94 with sunroof, white. Plastic rear hatch panel and window with large carbon fiber wing, splitter and dive planes, fiberglass nose piece for increased cooling. Full roll cage, Kirby seats, harnesses. Fenders rolled for clearance.

Suspension, 800/600 coil over springs, Koni shocks, heavy duty sway bars.. 18" Fikse 3 piece wheels sized for race slicks

Brakes AP Racing front, 99 Mazda rear system.

Safety gear - Roll cage, electrically operated fire system, electrical disconnect switch, race battery located in rear, 15 gal fuel cell

If there are highly specific questions, I would be happy to facilitate more information.

Thank you,

Pete

I bet if it had an LS-swap it would sell about twice as fast. A 470HP boosted rotary sounds like a recipe for boom.

Track any rotary much and you learn what it is like to replace them. Turbos done right don't take too much off the life, but then again they can't or they wouldn't make it off the trailer.

Only engine I've blown on track was a NA RX-8. Certainly wasn't my fault, it was just deemed "it was its time to go." *sigh* Least fun rental weekend ever...

Ron, I know you are posting for someone else, but per forum rules, please list a price. Without a price it is a mostly useless post.

Thanks!

Richard

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.
