ok, so maybe I can help out here as well. I have some old parts from the '96 328 I'd like to get rid of.

> Some black seats purchased through Amazon that would support a 4 point harness belt, no certs and you'd need to add a seat bottom pass through. Have some home made frames that gets you low to the ground.
> H&R sport springs, but these are for the M3 front struts.
> Hotchkis 33mm front bar.

If you can use any of this, make me an offer, been sitting around too long....

Time for a new/separate thread perhaps?

I have a Sony removeable faceplate single CD unit with the harness that came out of my '97, plus stock speakers too I believe.

$40

$50 with the speakers.

So as I mentioned it was not running right, seemed like a bad cylinder. Did compression and something was funky with cyl #6 (120# vs 170ish for the others). Pulled the valve cover to check cams, looked good, replaced leaking valve cover gasket while I was in there, new plugs (lots of oil inside the plug holes from bad plug hole gaskets), back together and .... still misfiring or running on 5 cylinders.

Said screw it, tossed in a new radiator, and went for a drive. Still misfiring and clicking loudly a few times up and down the street. Got tired of pussyfooting ... ran it up the revs and BAM she cleared her throat and is running great. I mean really great, the old M50TU has more power than I remember. I suspect that one lifter or valve stem was sticking on #6 and she just needed an "italian tuneup" to free up.

Otherwise it drives great. Floaty and a few clunks from a 20 year old suspension as to be expected. Trans, shifter, brakes, steering, etc all feel nice. She's a keeper.

And the best part ... no CELs!

My M5 does this if it sits for 3-4 weeks without being driven (don't ask - doesn't happen any more!). The Italian tune-up works every time.

evan's e34 m5 does too, it runs like crap if it sits for a week. a little hard driving brings back the awesome.

Well done. It's a amazing what a Porter Cable buffer, some polish and a little time can do. My repressed inner waxer says you need to repaint those faded gray lower facia to complete the deal. 8)

Thanks man! I have talked to them a few times over the last 2 weeks and have already emailed a lowball offer :)

If the offer sticks fine, otherwise I'm gonna hold out for something other than silver...
