Well...since I joined the dark side and become an instructor, I need to pick up a Chatterbox. Any recommendations on what all to get and where to get it?

I know nothing about the Chatterbox, but I will say that apexperformance just signed on as a THSCC sponsor and are offering discounts to members. We will hopfully have the info in the newsletter, likely coming out soon....

well, the antz BT system is suppose to be very nice.

;)

I purchased my system from Racer wholesale and have been very happy with the Chatterbox.

I have no idea the difference between the two systems though.

Maybe I missed it in the November letter. Can you guys post this when it is live, I've bought from these folks and been very happy with their service. I want a Racetech seat. Even 5-10% off on those is a lot.!!!

My chatterbox is less than perfect. I did buy extra sets of headsets so I can give one set to each student for the entire weekend.
I've heard the USB units have enough range to make "lead / follow" communication a possibility.

If they'll give me 10% off Racetech seat I just might buy one sooner than later. I'm tired of the Corbeau FX1 Pro I have. Not good enough support.

I see you got KNS Brakes. Ken is a good guy. He got me a good price on Hawk pads. Hard to beat on DTC70/60s. I also bought some DBA rotors from him. I'm testing them vs the cheap Napa blank routine to see if it is worth. They are very thick rotors.

They ain't worth spit when the headset DIN connectors don't stay connected, or even in contact if barely 'cocked' for that matter.

Even though I couldn't afford the higher priced Clatter Bolix I decided to relent to all the members who kept hounding me to go for the 'quality'. Well, that didn't work out too good, but then that's just me.

Steve 'who's finally got 'is Nady modded up soes it ain't too bad' Coleman

PS: Lot less 'cauliflower ear' too...

PSS: Hard to beat OG Racing... especially their service or prices. Sent me a replacement for the first CB right away without waiting to get the defective one back. Made sure I got it in time for the upcoming weekend too, which was only two days away. Unfortunately it was all for naught. Ask for Steve.

For those instructors that use a Chatterbox while instructing who also have a 2-way radio system, I've got an adapter that connects the two.

So, you can hook up your 2-way radio ear buds/ built in helmet mic directly to the Chatterbox. It works great and is so much more convenient that sliding the crappy Chatterbox mic/ear boom under your helmet. Plus, the sound quality is much clearer.

If interested, please email me at dbbmwm3(at)yahoo(dot)com
