Are they trying to be PC and rename "Bitch"? There a huge sign as you drive down the road to Oak Tree that mentions "taming it" a la Shakespeare. Has anybody heard an official word about this? virclub.com comes up empty.

I believe that the Shrew is refering to the south course

yeah, I think they are trying to give South Course an Identity of it's own. That way it could be rented better because it will be "known"

I saw that last time I was there and wondered about that also. I guess naming South Course makes as much sense as anything I could come up with.

I'm annoyed by the name "Full" for the full course. When you see subject lines in forum posts like "Asphalt Ventures Registration for VIR Full" it doesn't much matter what's after that...you might assume the registration is "full", not FOR "VIR Full."

I think they ought to give it a real "name" of some kind. But if the same person is naming it that named South "The Shrew", well, maybe a little confusion is better. ;)

And Full Course isn't really the full course. The Grands are. It feels very Spın̈al Tap.

Maybe they can change the name of Grand to

V11

I've driven South and Full, but never North or Patriot or either Grand. Oh, and the kart track. :)

i ran Grand East with BMW CCA. it was my fourth or fifth event. IMO it can't be done any justice in a 20 / 25 minute session.

i would like to try Grand West just to run VIR backwards.

you should try North course Donnie. that right turn under the bridge is entertaining.

Grand East in real life but have run Grand West on iRacing a fair amount. In iRacing you can run full backwards too (not timed, just going the wrong way in practice) which is interesting as you learn things about the course you didn't know that gives you a different appreciation for the "normal" direction.

Yep, that's about 50+% of Patriot Course running in its intended direction. I agree with you and is one reason why I've always wanted for THSCC to host another Patriot Course event some day. It's been what 5 years since the last one? I think the course is a blast and enjoy really working on the extreme technical nature of its slower speed sections. I'm in the minority however it appears. :( (plus the business case for renting it doesn't really work well I believe).
