Did they do any DE groups for this event? Or was it just lapping?

He ran 3 DE groups.
Green, novice with instructor, limited passing on straights.
Yellow, int-adv, passing anywhere with a point.
Red, adv, passing anywhere, no point required.
The rolling start was something he wanted to add so people could get an idea of a race start. Without actually racing. So the deal was not to have cluster-f$%* in T1 with people dive bombing. A drivers meeting was done before it happened. Those that wanted to did. We paired up in advance. Those that didn't were let out on track the following lap. It is just a wrinkle to the way they do it. Whether you agree or not is irrelevant.
They are from the midwest. Putnam Park is their home track. Bill had signed up to do 10 events at Blue Grass and took a beating on that before pulling the plug on BG. He said they have done nothing since the first pass paving. VIR was a fill in and he lost on that too. Next year he wants a spring time event at VIR. Say April or so. He's a small business guy just like you Stacy. Trying to start up a track business and find a marketing angle. He's got Danny Popp and Joe Gaudette on board and a few others. He's talking about some schools and other ideas for next year.
It was a fun 2 day event. You could get 2-3 hours/day on track. At the end of each day from say 4:00-5:30 was open track with yellow group rules. So Novices pretty much stepped back. They still got 2 hours/day.
