Kev,
I am going to have to agree with quite a few here about how nice it looks. After watching 3 T2 and 2 T3 cars going at it this week, I think no car car escape a NASA race unscathed.

Invest in body panels now.

And tell us the truth...will you really do the load and go thing?

Kevin:

Could not see in the photos but you should add the roll cage extension's to
reinforce the wheel well housing to protect your feet and lower legs. Plus
it will also help stiffen the shock towers on top of the wheel housing
indirectly.

Great build. Looks like a "body in white" its so clean and getting rid of
the crud will save weight. Does the rules allow you to remove the tar
insulation coatings as well?

Mark,

Yeah, I had Chris include the footwell protection for both driver and passenger. It sure makes getting the wiring sorted out a little more challenging. I had to do a custom installation for the ABS computer because the dash bar decided to occupy that space. :)

The rules do permit removal of any interior sound deadening and exterior undercoating materials. I have removed all the sound deadening material inside the cockpit. The trunk material is going to remain. It seems to be a necessary evil to make min weight and help maintain a more reasonable Front/Rear weight ratio. In an effort to get the car as close to 50/50 as I can, I've been trying to be selective where I remove weight.

The car literally is a body in white because...it's a white car! It's going to get a paint job in Rustoleum Professional Semi Gloss White. I've graphics already planned and they shouldn't be too hard to do.

sort off topic....

I may have missed this part...did you add additional baffles to the oil pan, use a crank scraper or similar? Interesting discussion on the SpecE30 board about that recently, thought about adding one to my car when I get around to it...

Thanks,

Non-teflon I-J Crankscraper fitted in. It is not a drop in place application. Took about 6 trial fits and a fair amount of filing. I prefer to hand file something like that rather than go after it with a grinder/cutter wheel.

If you search spece30.com you'll find my comments about the clearances I got. I think it's under a thread called Ranger's motor swap. The thread is a SpecE30.com epic. Take Ranger with a big lump of salt. He'll make you think you need a sump system, but I find his views on things a bit skewed. He's still good entertainment. I'm "rrroadster" on that site.
