I talked with an employee of GRM.... He "Claims" that the twin turbo generates just under 800 hp.... but I don't know... if that is true they must have turned her down a bit for VIR, as it was quick but nothing compared that that friggin GT-1 Corvette. good god that thing was hooked up

Here is a photo of the Mustang. Image

There were two CMC2 cars in front of me and we were all closing on a slow H1 car and a stock car. The climbing essess became a nightmare for all of us.

I was comfortably in second place at the time. I could see the third place car about 2 seconds back. No worries. Then we hit a bottleneck in the essess and turn 10. That allowed the third place car to close and I decided I had to get going. A big mistake. I tried to use my freshly painted front bumper to move the CMC2 out of my way out at the exit of Oak Tree. That caused me to spin across the track and into the grass. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Just an FYI,
Those excercises they did are also done in Chuck Hawks Revolution school. So if you want to practice it before hand, sign up for one of Asphalt Venture/Revolution schools coming up.

I also have heard something that bothered me. There was a roll over, and they just yellow flagged the session. Is this true?

I read and saw pictures of a Subaru that rolled on to its roof exiting turn 10 during an HPDE session. I know the instructor and he had signed the guy off to solo.

Not sure why you are bothered by a local yellow thrown there. They had a yellow at 9 and a waving yellow at 10.

With a roll over and a possible injury, why not black flag?

If your thinking of racing Marty then you'd better get use to hot pulls, local yellows and EV's on the track. He was off the track. and was not severly injured. And they did infact shorten the session to retrive both driver and car.

Bernie - congrats on making it through your first race, even if the equipment wasn't your best friend. It's great that this is coming together for you. I know you've invested a lot of time and money to get the '86 ready for prime time.

I still have grandiose thoughts of doing a NASA comp school and racing, but I think I'll just stick with LeMons for now.

I know a couple of your ST2 competitors - both good guys in Corvettes - Ross Miller and Wally Hessami.

Are you going with a new fuel cell, or can you have an old one "refoamed?"

I as a continuing driver would be fine, but I would have concerns about the driver that went off.

I'm confused Marty, what does the Black flag have to do with concern for the driver??? The EV's roll as soon as an incident is reported, cars on the track don't impede that progress.

Why yes it was. I think the ferrari may have won the race. he wasn't all that fast in the corners but his straight away speed was awesome.
