So... ummm... anybody else thinking about being a student (or instructor) at the Mazda event in June? - Or have any past experience with them?

:D

I did two events at VIR with the Mada Drivers last year. Good, well run events. The Spring event was 70 degrees on Saturday, rain then lots of snow on Sunday. Sent us home after lunch. You'll see a mix of cars, but lots of Miatae and turbo RX-7s. They also had a half dozen new RX-8s at the fall event last year.
They also allow you to tech your own car (similar to our annual tech checkoff list) , but require an on-site tech (either the night before or at the track) by their tech staff.
A fair number of Tarheelers usually attend, Diane Hall was my instructor last Spring.

Kevin,

Another option is the Potomac Audi Club, I ran their event last December at VIR. Another good group, but they require a garage tech and you need to join the Audi club.
They have VIR-F in April (on a Monday-Tuesday). See here:

We had about 5 Z's at the last Mazda Event. They all had a lot of fun.

Thanks for the input! I plan to do all the THSCC events @ VIR this year, so I'll be at South Course in April. Unless something comes up, it looks like I'll be at the Mazda event in June.

And Christine has actually shown interest in doing the Patriot Course event in September. :D

Kevin (I guess Christine didn't log out)

I would be remiss if I didn't point out that the June dates for the Mazda folks at VIR are the same as the Tarheel dates at Roebling.
The Mazda folks also have a VIR-N event at the end of March. North is very fun too ...
Coco Strayer (who you'll see instructing at HPDEs) runs a great resource for track junkies - http://www.trackschedule.com/

Enjoy,

The Mazda group is one of my favorites. They run a great show, and for a Miata person, it's fun to see so many Miatas in one place.

Try out North course if you get a chance... it's my very favorite!
